My studio is built into the earth on the site of Storrs, Montana, a mining town that vanished more than a century ago. I work in encaustic, unrefined beeswax, pigment stick, and oil and cold wax. My sculpture is made from PEM® glass, a material created by transforming waste. I listen to the story of the land where I live and work, a story of extraction and of reclamation by the natural world. I’m always glad to talk with people who are curious about that conversation.
